But you two chitchat for a good long while. It feels kind of funny to be so formal when you know that destiny--the friendly kind--has already ordained that the formerly Latent Ambition will leave this mundane shopgirl life behind and follow a parallel path to the crew of the good ship ANSERI. And everything she's doing until then, in waiting on and greeting customers like yourself, is just sort of a LARPed-up pantomime. 

While cultural differences between humanoids and rastipedes are inevitable, there are some things that are a universal constant. Such as BEING A SWEETHEART, which Realized Ambition fits the very definition of. She fits it, nay, *realizes* it so hard, they might as well change her name to Realized Definition. But they won't. Because she loves her name and changing it would make her sad.

Being the sweetheart that she is, Realized Ambition shows a more-than-typical interest in things like your personal life and feelings. From some people, this might come off as cloying, insincere, or even conniving, but coming from Ambition, it feels quite genuine.
